Reimagined Tie Dye Rugs

Berlin-based Reuber Henning introduces its new Tie Dye collection. The designs reimagine historical rug fragments from global museum collections through hand-knotted tie-dye designs, offering a unique and one-of-a-kind approach to rug aesthetics. By looking closely at aged rug fragments, designers Franziska Reuber and Birgit Krah effectively capture the idiosyncrasies and unique contours of traditional rug sensibilities. These shapes, untouched and unaltered, undergo tie-dye techniques to create random and chance patterns for a more contemporary feel. Reuber Henning replaces traditional patterns "with delicate zigzag patterns rendered in a blend of Tibetan wool and silk that has been dyed using the ancient tie-dye technique." Hand-knotted in Nepal, the Tie Dye colle action by Reuber Henning boasts distinctive statement pieces that embrace an extravagant yet casual style, suitable for different interiors.
