Adjustable-Depth Therapy Pool Designs

SwimEx Spotlights its DepthSelect Series Innovation

SwimEx, a Massachusetts-based manufacturer of fiberglass therapy and training pools, has introduced the DepthSelect Series — an adjustable-depth therapy pool innovation designed to address treatment bottlenecks in commercial rehabilitation and athletic training facilities.

The DepthSelect Series' core selling point is that it allows clinicians to modify water levels specifically within the underwater treadmill zone while the rest of the pool remains fully operational for other users. This, in turn, eliminates the need to adjust the entire pool environment. The system is available on SwimEx 1000 T and 1500 T models as well as custom configurations.

The design philosophy emphasizes operational reliability and maximum facility utilization, as demonstrated by its use in high-performance settings like the Cleveland Guardians' hydrotherapy room, where SwimEx pools support the preparation and recovery of a significant portion of the roster throughout the demanding baseball season.

Adjustable Hydrotherapy Zones
Variable-depth treatment areas create new potential for rehabilitation facilities to personalize aquatic therapy without reducing access to the broader pool environment.
Multi-user Recovery Pools
Shared aquatic systems that support simultaneous therapy, training, and recovery reflect a shift toward higher facility throughput and more efficient clinical scheduling.
Athlete-centric Aquatic Recovery
Professional sports adoption of specialized hydrotherapy infrastructure highlights emerging demand for performance recovery tools that blend medical-grade treatment with daily training workflows.

Industries Being Reshaped

Physical Rehabilitation
Clinics and hospital-based therapy centers benefit from pool systems that accommodate diverse mobility levels while improving utilization of expensive aquatic treatment assets.
Sports Performance
Teams and training centers are increasingly positioned to integrate aquatic recovery technologies that support injury prevention, conditioning, and season-long athlete readiness.
Healthcare Facility Design
Architects and planners face growing opportunities around modular wellness spaces where adaptable therapy equipment helps facilities serve more patients within constrained footprints.
