The Sidephone SP-01 is a modular feature phone that expands its functionality through interchangeable keypad attachments, and the latest addition is the Mini Controller Keypad. Developed by Sidephone, the accessory replaces the standard keypad with a gaming-inspired control layout featuring a directional pad, A, B, X, and Y buttons, along with Start and Select controls. Designed to attach using magnetic connectors and pogo pins, the keypad allows users to quickly transform the phone’s interface without changing the core hardware. The accessory joins existing modules including T9, QWERTY, and scroll-wheel keypads.
The SP-01 runs on a custom Android-based operating system and features a 2.8-inch touchscreen, a 12-megapixel camera, and support for essential mobile applications. To accompany the Mini Controller Keypad, Sidephone has introduced two built-in games, Mini Asteroids and Mini Blocks, while also outlining plans for future community-developed games and applications.
