AR-Enabled Illumination Apps

The Philips Hue App Now Uses LiDAR to Provide an AR Preview

The Philips Hue app has been updated by the brand to incorporate a new augmented reality (AR) feature for iPhone users to help them enjoy a more interactive experience. The update will utilize the LiDAR functionality on compatible Apple devices to visualize lighting aesthetics and setups in real-time, which will help users to better understand how a product could be used in their home. The feature will also provide a view into how a lamp will brighten up a dark room at night versus during the day to maximize the capability of the user.

The Philips Hue app is also being updated with the new do not disturb option that will set motion and security sensors to react to movement when lights are turned off and more.
