The Ninja Sphere is essentially the evolution of Ninja Blocks, the device that let you monitor just about everything in your home from your smartphone. Instead of using individual apps to monitor your home, the device uses waypoints placed around your home and wireless connectivity to tell you everything from where your dog is to when you've left a light on.

The Ninja Sphere's main components are the Spheramid Gateway and location waypoints. The waypoints are used to help create a map of your home, and the Spheramid lets you control your devices and tells you helpful information about devices connected to it, allowing you to leaf through information (presented on your computer or other device) using a single hand swipe. The entire system is open source, allowing you to tweak the code and functionality as you see fit. Ninja Blocks has taken to Kickstarter to raise funding and has blown bast its initial goal of $115,000 AUD.
