The Lyft app has recently expanded and it will now include Bikes, Subway information, Scooter as well as its normal ride-hailing capabilities. The company will roll out the new changes on the platform within the next few weeks. The app will also have the ability to change between the different modes of travel on the app. Additionally a new tool, named "single-mode selector," was created to allow users the ability to compare the prices across different modes of travel. The app will also display the map associated with all of the different transportation methods.
The Lyft app is positioning itself to be an all-encompassing platform for transportation. The company's co-founder and president, John Zimmer, spoke about the new changes, “At Lyft, we’re working toward a future where cities are centered around people, not cars.”
