The Thrifty Foods' Admirals Walk store, The Hearth, features a design that will take the bakery to the next level. The store has been redesigned to reflect the bakery's newfound commitment to making things the old-fashioned way.
Along with traditional bakery fare, the store will now offer artisan bread and gourmet products. Seth Gustavson, the store's manager, spoke about how the process of making things from scratch affects the product. He says, "Just like with wine, where each vineyard has specific qualities that contribute to the flavor and body of the final product, artisan bread starters have their own unique profile."
The Hearth serves as a business template for the company. It was modeled and designed after consumer needs, and if all goes well, the design will be replicated for the brand's other stores in the Vancouver area.
