Rippled Wooden Board Artworks

The Grind by Erica Sellers Visualizes the Sounds of New York City

The Grind by Erica Sellers, a conceptual artist and designer based in New York City, visualizes the hustle and bustle of the most populated metropolis in the United States. Although similar to her past Landscape of Sound furniture series, this project is much more abstract. Not only does it involve the sounds of a city rather than a symphony, it is also based around a wooden board for more of an artistic approach.

Made using audio samples collected from around the Big Apple during a month, The Grind by Erica Sellers the oscillations were ground into reclaimed local wood using 3D modeling software and CNC technology. The project combines sound and sight for an artwork that will mesmerize anyone.
