Taking home a prize for lighting at the 2013 Bar and Restaurant Design Awards, ‘The Feast’ restaurant in Shanghai certainly knows how to provide its customers with ambiance.

Designed by Neri & Hu, the restaurants most notable feature is the array of 500 hand-blown glass lamps suspended from the impossibly high ceilings. The finished product leaves you feeling like you’re enjoying a starry night sky outside, rather than sitting inside a restaurant.

If you ever find yourself on a first date in Shanghai, this memorable restaurant is definitely the place to go. The lighting is soft, warm and inviting – perfectly complementing the restaurants’ contemporary aesthetic. The design is imaginative, romantic and provides a lovely atmosphere.
