Dyson, the UK based vacuum company was requested to make ventilators in response to COVID-19, and within 10 days the company developed a device named 'the CoVent.' Following the design, the National Health Service has requested 10,000 models from Dyson.
The CoVent can be easily mounted on a hospital bed, and it can be powered using batteries or power from a wall outlet. Additionally, the unit does not need a fixed air supply to operate.
The founder of Dyson also spoke about the technical details of the CoVent and stated it is, "designed to address the specific clinical needs of COVID-19 patients." Dyson also stated that the unit can be efficiently mass-produced, and he also stated the company will donate 5,000 ventilators for international use.
