Childhood-Informed Dome Chairs

The Clodette Chair Boasts Large Proportions and Soft Material

Alex Leuzinger, the designer of the Clodette Chair, was inspired by childhood memories while creating the chair's shape. Leuziinger created the spherical lounge chair for Studioforma. The chair evokes childhood memories when objects and furnishings seemed giant in size due to its large spherical shape.

"The Clodette chair deduces from memories of childhood, precisely of a time in which everything around one appears humongous such as tables that were too high, chairs too big, sofas too low, and so on," as Studioforma explains. It is made up of segments placed together to form a large circular piece. The front of the chair's sphere is removed to make a seat, a backrest, and two soft armrests.
