Raw Edges designers Yael Mer and Shay Alkalay created The Booken as a joint project with Italian furniture company Lema.
Combining a simple wooden finish with intelligent design, this book holder becomes a standout piece that fits right into your home library or office. The designers wanted to work around the idea that although people enjoy reading their books, they hardly reread them, leaving them to collect dust on the shelf. When you use this shelf unit, you hang finished books on the supporting slats, creating a new surface out of book spines.
Instead of forgetting about old favorites, you can give already read novels a new purpose by using The Booken as a shelf or even a table upon which you read new books.
