Emotional Concept Conversation Cards

‘The Biggies’ Help Grasp Challenging Emotional Concepts

‘The BIGGIES’ cards provide a way for parents to open up and easily communicate with their children about emotions and feelings. Devin Tomiak is one of the creators of these cards, and her purpose was to find a way to discuss mental wellness with kids. Dr. Amy Engelman is her friend, a psychologist who works with children, and together they created these cards.

Parents and guardians can focus on challenging concepts children will have to learn and go through play, like forgiveness, patience, and perseverance. The front of every card contains an ice-breaker question that will allow users to ease into the more profound concepts and prompts found on the back of the card. A special card was created to ensure that everyone is heard, which lets whoever is holding it be the only one speaking during that time until it is passed on.
