'Thanksgiving for Syria' is a new web app that allows consumers to share their Thanksgiving dinner with Syrian refugees. Thanksgiving for Syria was developed by San Jose–based web developer Paul Katcher. The app works by calculating the cost of your Thanksgiving dinner based on the price of traditional holiday staples such as turkey, stuffing and pumpkin pie. The app then suggests what size donation each guest can make to help support Syrian refugees. After a donation has been calculated, users can select the charity they wish to donate to. The app will then direct users to each charity's individual donation page so that a safe and secure transaction can be made.

With so many consumers reflecting on what they are thankful for, this app provides a simple outlet for helping those who may not be quite as fortunate.
