Inclusive Tactile Cutlery Concepts

The Tactil Concept is a Cutlery Set for the Visually Impaired

Ho Hyun Lim designed the Tactil concept, which is a set of cutlery that is imagined for those who are visually impaired. It can be a challenge to recognize the various cutlery by touching the handle and having to touch the head, which leads to issues about hygiene.

Tactil is formed for those who are visually impaired so that they recognize the cutlery they have picked up by only touching the handle. The simple idea is to add tactile lines to the back of the cutlery which is an intuitive response to the user. The character lines that are integrated into the handle are designed according to the respective utensil. The spoon has a slightly raised curve and the fork has indented holes.
