When Swedish designer Jonas Wagell was designing the Peek Table Lamp by Menu, he originally intended for the design to be a floor lamp. However, he decided to take the more minimal approach and design something that would be used as an accent rather than a focal point. Featuring a skeletal arm that delicately holds the fixture, the Peek Table Lamp by Menu has a weighted base that helps keep the design from tipping.
Explaining his design further, Wagell elaborates that, "Although the form derives from a functional requirement I believe it’s important that the lamp has personality and an expression. I strive to create simplistic objects and products that are intuitive and easy to understand. In essence, the Peek lamps only consist of three parts; base, stem and shade."
