Creative camera effects lens manufacturer Lensbaby is developing the LM-10 Sweet Spot Lens, a smartphone lens that will bring the famously classic Lensbaby look to the iPhone. Lensbaby is known for its DSLR camera and mirror-less lenses that allow photographers to take photos consisting of a central focal point surrounding by a gradually increasing blur. The Sweet Spot Lens is Lensbaby’s attempt to bring the same effect to the iPhone’s camera.
In fact, the Sweet Spot Lens will be Lensbaby’s first product designed for smartphones. It consists of a small aluminum lens barrel which can be attached to a smartphone camera lens using magnets and an adhesive-backed stainless steel ring. The lens barrel contains a series of optics that allow users to shoot photos with the classic Lensbaby look. The Sweet Spot Lens gives a focal length equivalent of 17 mm.
The Sweet Spot Lens has been designed with the iPhone in mind, and comes with a companion iOS app.
