I adore the work of Rankin, especially since he has moved into film directing. Rankin has unquestionably provided us with some of the most iconic photographs around, such as his portrait of the Queen. I love his work best when it gets a bit surreal and crazy, such as the portrait of the pig.

This gallery showcases some of Rankin's more unusual imagesâ€"perfect for creative inspiration at any time!

Implications - As the North American economy continues to become uncertain, public demand for surrealistic imagery is at an all-time high as consumers need diversions from their finances. Surrealistic imagery is particularly effective at this task due to its evocation of escapism. Corporations can take advantage of this consumer demand and fashion advertising campaigns which utilize surrealistic imagery.
