Located in Montauk — a small beach town in Long Island, this surf house boasts a dark exterior, connected gabled roofs and large windows. New York-based firm T W Ryan Architecture does a wonderful job in creating a contrast between the all-dark home exterior and the surrounding landscape. The surf house is going through a restoration process, in order to meet the lifestyle and taste of a young family.
Utilizing smart layout design, the interior of the house is completely rearranged by T W Ryan Architecture. The firm incorporated a brand new wrapping stairwell that soundly connects the lower and upper floors. The positioning of the addition grants "space for a new entry hall, indoor/outdoor bathroom and for the garage to be converted into a bedroom."
