Following the immense popularity of Pokémon Go, the Super Mario AR game enables you to play a beloved retro video game out in the real world. Developed by Abhishek Singh (who has residency at the Interactive Telecommunications Program at New York University), the first person augmented reality game runs on a Microsoft Hololens headset for an incredibly engaging and interactive experience. The 3D-programmed entertainment app features "the iconic first level World 1-1 from Super Mario Bros" in life size. In addition to using Hololens, Super Mario AR was also built with Unity 3D and Fusion360.

This potentially viral game plays into a nostalgia many in the millennial generation feel, while also introducing modern technology and a truly immersive experience.
