The Celebrity Lamp, designed exclusively for Deeply Madly Living, is highly sought after with a backorder until 2008. Who would have thought with a $1,6000 price tag?
Implications - Some inanimate objects, like sunglasses, become so closely related to larger innovations that they become pop culture icons in their own right. Sunglasses are a symbol of celebrity in today's society, and thus, are transcending their original purpose in order to achieve a sense of glamor in whatever product they're used for.
