A new cafe recently opened in Tokyo, which is specifically designed to cater to stuffed animals and toys. In Japan, a large percentage of adult women own stuffed toys and many of them go to great lengths to care for their cuddly companions. This cafe is designed to go one step further and allow individuals to treat their toys to a full meal or snack.
The 'Yawarakan’s Cafe' is Japan's first cafe designed exclusively for stuffed animals and toys. Because the cafe is restricted to inanimate objects, walk-in visitors are not permitted. Instead, diners must make a reservation in advance and then mail their stuffed animals to the cafe. Once the plush toys arrive at the cafe, they are led to their reserved table and served a series of dishes which include a fresh fruit smoothie, a rice omelet and a stack of 10 pancakes covered in maple syrup.
While the idea of a stuffed animal cafe may seem unusual, the establishment is currently booked solid until mid-September.
