— March 8, 2022 — Art & Design
Studio Seilern Architects is a London-based firm. The creative minds at Seilern enclosed the Gouna Festival Plaza in the Red Sea resort of El Gouna, Egypt, with a trio of colonnades, giving off an ethereal appearance. The larger-than-life structures are built within an artificial lagoon.

The plaza marks the first stage of the Gouna Conference and Culture Centre, designed as a landmark cultural destination for the resort town. The culture venue in Gouna aims to unify the town in a strong urban gesture. According to Christina Seilern, the principal of Studio Seilern Architects, the colonnades give the area "a new point of focus with a captivating cultural venue." Studio Seilern Architects continues its partnership with the resort owners in an agreement to bu7ild a 600-seat concert hall and conference center in the coming years.
