Reworked Loyalty Apps

Starbucks Rewards Was Recently Updated with Increased Payment Options

Starbuck announced that it is updating its Starbucks Rewards program, which will start in the fall for consumers located in the United States and Canada. Accumulating points will also allow consumers to build toward free items. Brady Brewer, the company’s CMO, stated that the update was done to incorporate customer feedback. Updates to the Starbucks Rewards program include more payment options and new ways to accumulate rewards through the app. Customers will now have the ability to scan their Starbucks app, and then they can pay with cash, debit, or credit, as well as mobile wallets.

Patrick Grismer the Starbuck CFO and EVP spoke about the update, "The more recent loyalty offers and enhancements to digital that we've launched coming out of COVID have really reengaged customers and have helped to drive sales, as evidenced by a meaningful increase in average weekly downloads and activations of the Starbucks mobile app since the campaign started in early to mid-May.”
