Spin electric scooters are being expanded in terms of accessibility thanks to a new partnership that will help consumers to more easily locate and pay for a rental on their own terms. The partnership is part of a larger shift towards a combined transportation ecosystem where users will be able to choose from an array of options rather than feeling limited. The integration of Spin electric scooters into the Lyft app will start in Nashville, Tennessee starting today with a further rollout taking place in 13 additional cities in the US through April.
Spin CEO Ben Bear spoke on the new partnership with Lyft saying, "This is the first time we’ve done a native integration, where you can actually execute the whole trip flow within the partner app. So you don’t need to go to the Spin app. You can just open Lyft, find a Spin scooter and, just as you would with a Lyft bike, scan, unlock and ride. And it’s the first time Lyft has done an integration partnership, as well.”
