Presented as Daou Vineyards' flagship wine, the 2022 Soul of a Lion is characterized as a Bordeaux-style blend predominantly composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, alongside 15% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. The wine is aged for 22 months in new French oak barrels and sourced from the vineyard's specific mountain terrain in Paso Robles. The resulting taste boasts "notes of violet, strawberry jam, cassis, blueberry, and black currant." These are complemented by "red fruit, chocolate-covered blueberry, and baking spices."

The three bottles are presented in a special lion-adorned packaging intended for gift presentation.
