The Sonos Trueplay Gauges its Environment to Produce the Best Sound

Like a Bluetooth speaker with its own personal roadie, Sonos Trueplay adapts to the acoustics of the room it's in.

Sonos is a company previously known for creating high-quality, portable connected speakers. With Sonos Trueplay software, the newest generation of Sonos speakers will also be the first music broadcasters capable of adjusting to their environment.

Using the Sonos Trueplay app, the owner of a new Sonos speakers will be able to conduct a set-up measurement of the room in which they place their Sonos. Under the app's guidance, their smartphone will emit a tone which measures the placement of furniture and walls in the room over the course of a 45-second test. Sonos Trueplay technology will then adjust the sound configuration of the speaker to create the best possible sound quality for its specific surroundings.
