Björk New Album Debuts With a Simulated Augmented Reality Appearance

Björk is an artist that often pushes the envelope on avant-garde performances and to release her latest album, the songstress put together a simulated augmented reality appearance. The performance featured the movements and actions of the singer located in Iceland depicted in 3D using virtual reality to audiences at a press conference. The technology allowed the artist to be in a place she physically wasn't, to share a cinematic debuting of her new music.

The exhibition included a combination of digital medium, interactive technology as well as music performance. The conference took place in London, England and through VR capabilities, Björk could be in several places at once using a digital avatar that projected her appearance and real-time movements to the crowd.
