In this series of interesting society captures, a curious human phenomenon known as "litterplugging" is introduced by Cabel Maxfield Sasser. The strange act involves placing or "plugging" garbage in random places to avoid it from landing on the ground. The psychology is that if it never touches the floor it doesn't count as littering.
Sasser has captured quite a few of these instances of plugging as it is something that occurs in many places. It shouldn't be too hard to come across such after spending time in any public locale -- especially ones that do not possess a sufficient amount of garbage receptacles.
Hopefully these society captures don't spark an interest in partaking in this activity. As with the fascination with "planking," some of these odd acts from society become popular photo worthy re-enactments.
