The Snapchat app is seeing an increase in growth among global users. The user base increased by 14.2% in 2019, and it is predicted that the Snapchat app will accumulate a total of 293.01 million users before the end of the year.
The increase in users was not among young people, and instead the biggest demographic for growth is users above the age of 35. Specifically, users between the ages of 55-64 increased by a total of 13%, which makes boomers the largest growing demographic on the app. The second largest growing demographic is users between the ages of 45-54, which increased by a total of 13%.
The growth among older uses may also be accelerated by the outbreak of COVID-19, where digital platforms can be used to facilitate interactions between individuals as they remain at home.
