In an effort to reduce plastic by up to 76%, Carlsberg is replacing plastic ring can holders with a new "Snap Pack" utilizing recyclable glue. Described as a world first for the beer industry, the new Snap Pack will secure cans in packs of four, six or eight. The glue itself has been specially designed to withstand a range of temperatures, including transportation, storage and refrigeration at home.

The Snap Pack is just one of a number of green initiatives announced by the Carlsberg Group. Other innovations include a switch to Cradle-to-Cradle Certified silver inks to improve bottle recyclability, a new coating on glass bottles to extend their lifespan and new caps that remove oxygen to make beer taste fresher for longer.
