Schreiner MediPharm and Experts in Communications & Connectivity Technology created a smart package for a global pharmaceutical company to improve upon the accuracy, efficiency and speed of clinical trials. As it is often difficult to track how trial participants adhere to protocols, the smart packaging system was developed to minimize errors and improve program adherence.

The smart package boasts a design that generates real-time data when a patient releases a tablet from the blister pack. This information is stored in the packaging, but may also be transmitted to a database via a dedicated smartphone app or reader.
