As well as astonishing the beverage industry with a NFC whiskey bottle Johnnie Walker continues to push convention with a smart glass. This drinking glass was developed as part of a promotion for the Red Label in collaboration with sensory scientist group Condiment Junkie. Dubbed the Boldest Glass, the cup features bone conduction technology, so that music can be transmitted into the ear of the drinker.
Inside the cup, there is a concealed exciter, which causes the glass to vibrate. At the bottom of the glass is an amplifier, which takes in sounds from the AM/FM transmitter. To further enhance the sensory experience, a special music track was created to bring out the spicy, warm tones of the ginger drink.
Johnnie Walker brand director Oscar Ocana describes that "The glass is set to give drinkers a glimpse of what bar culture could be like in the future."
