The community-wide warnings are possible due to a device that looks like a standard fire detector. However, this product is specially designed for homes that do not use conventional ovens and will therefore not have the usual cooking threats traditional smoke alarms are intended to sound off on.

The smart detector does not actually identify smoke using electricity, but rather uses innovative sensor technology to detect heat. They can even tell the difference between standard cooking heat versus dangerous, quick-spreading fire. The aim to is to prevent devastating damage that could destroy entire communities.
