Jaguar Land Rover's Smart Assistant is a high-tech in-car technology that aims to minimize the risk associated with driver distraction and error. It does so by learning driver behaviors and taking care of non-driving tasks so that drivers can focus their attentions on the road.
The Smart Assistant essentially identifies the car's driver based on a smartphone sync-up, and learns the driver's driving style and other in-vehicle habits. It then feeds this information through an algorithm along with other information like the driver's calendar, traffic conditions and weather in order to be able to predict their behaviour and handle non-essential tasks on their behalf.
The Smart Assistant works even before you get in the car, and adjusts the mirrors, seating and steering wheel settings as it detects you approaching the car. It can use information from your calendar to provide a preset route in its navigation system.
