SkyBell is one of the few Kickstarter success stories that managed to raise more than half a million dollars on Indiegogo. SkyBell is essentially based off of the complex video intercom systems associated with office buildings and big apartment complexes, but made with homeowners and small businesses in mind. Now the updated version of the SkyBell is even more sophisticated.

SkyBell combines a digital doorbell with a webcam that works with smartphones to inform people of exactly who is at the door. With better lens, motion sensor, onboard memory and Wi-Fi, SkyBell also now has a fixed lens that views up to 140 degrees, which deters people who think they can skulk in corners to stay out of its view. Yet it's SkyBell's improved Wifi that is its true gem, which cuts response time down significantly.
