The Simplissimo Series is Both Boxy and Curvy

Although there are a lot of minimalist pieces of furniture out there, I have to say that the Simplissimo series takes the cake. Not only for its very simple aesthetic, but also for the collection's amazing name. A series of seating, the collection is so minimal, yet extremely fascinating to look at.

Created by Paris-based industrial designer Jean Nouvel, the Simplissimo series was designed for the French-based furniture company Ligne Roset. The collection is comprised of a chaise lounge, fireside chair, footstool, banquette and bench. Each piece is upholstered in a black fabric that covers a comfortable Polyurethane foam. The Simplissimo series is also made out of soldered tubular steel, MDF and plywood for the back panel.

I love that the Simplissimo series is both boxy and curvy.
