Talented singer and guitarist John Mayer joined forces with Paul Reed Smith's PRS Guitar in creating a new Mayer signature guitar model entitled 'The Silver Sky.' The new musical instrument is a retro-style guitar that was produced over the span of two-and-a-half years. It incorporates both Mayer's and Smith's favorite vintage instrument components drawn from the 60s. This includes the reverse PRS iconic headstock silhouette shape and the vintage-style tuners with the PRS lock design.
The new Silver Sky model also has Mayer's signature on the bolted on maple neck with a 635JM carve. Some other elements of the guitar include a 7.25 fretboard radius, PRS trem arm with a steel PRS tremolo bridge, three-part PRS 635JM single-coil pickups, GEN-III knife-edge screws and prevision-tuned electronics.
