The Sharp 8K camera was shown off at CES 2019 as a pre-production prototype that speaks to the next generation of content creation targeted at the rising number of prosumers seeking high-end equipment.
The camera is targeted by the brand to have a price point below $5,000 and features a Micro Four Thirds (MFT) CMOS sensor along with support for MFT lenses. This allows photographers and videographers alike to use their choice of lens with the camera without feeling limited to just a handful of options.
The Sharp 8K camera prototype also features a USB-C port, an HDMI port and a mini-XLR audio input jack that alludes to the hardware being targeted towards prosumers who are in the movie-making market.
