Flexible, Ground-Gripping ‘Soft Buggy' Keeps Up On Any Green

— January 31, 2009 — Lifestyle
The Soft Buggy golf cart by Hamit Kanuni Kuralkan is flexible, steerable and super stable. It is constructed from materials including a Titanium nickel alloy and something else bendy called a ‘dielectric elastomer.’

With the weight of the clubs, the buggy’s axles flex and act as shock absorbers, stabilizing it and keeping the golf bag at a 90-degree angle to the ground no matter the terrain. Oversized low profile tires add to the cart’s cool appeal and ground-gripping abilities.

The shape memory alloy materials also allow for the cart to be folded up for space-saving storage.

Kuralkan designed the concept for a contest hosted by Callaway Golf.
