Located inside a shopping center, this prismatic Shanghai store is a dizzying forest of vertical steel bars contrasted by a brightly lit white back wall. The concept boutique was designed by firm 3Gatti for Asa and is said to be inspired by meditation.
Described by some as appearing like a giant bar code, the dystopian retail space doesn't have a clear beginning or a clear ending and instead invites the shopper in to peruse endlessly.
Shoes are elegantly displayed around the store on three-dimensional, cloud-like surfaces that sit installed on several of the vertical steel bars. Whether you are in the market for an expensive pair of shoes or not, this Shanghai store is a must-see if you find yourself in the Chinese city.
