Buttton Suture is a fun ritual process where buttons are sewn onto someone's arms or legs. It is one of the only examples of body modification I would describe as cutesy.

I am unsure how long the skin buttons remain on, but I do love how they look. While a lot of body mod is way too extreme and scary, this form reminds me of becoming a human rag doll.

I love it!

Implications - Consumers are becoming more creative with their attempts at individualization. As body modification becomes more popular, enthusiasts are looking for new ways to permanently but safely differentiate themselves. Businesses can appeal to buyers who seek alternatives to tattoos and piercings, by creating unusual products and services that meet this new need.
