The autonomous driving company has started to implement self-driving cars for Lyft. Waymo has started to provide a number of vehicles, which users can access in Pheonix. Eligible users will have to request a Lyft ride where pick up and drop off in the Phoenix area that allows autonomous testing.
Currently, there are under 10 of the self-driving cars for Lyft. However, Waymo has indicated plans to expand the number to 10 in the near future, this means that only a small section of Lyft users can access the Waymo cars. Users will also get to choose between a ride with an autonomous vehicle and a safety driver or a conventional Lyft ride.
Lyft and Waymo started the partnership in May, and they continue to continue offering the autonomous ride calling service.
