SelectaDNA Forensic Coding is a new anti-burgling system that, if implemented, will reduce and even prevent incidents of stealing significantly. Essentially, a thief is sprayed with a fine mist of DNA that is detectable under ultraviolet light. Each DNA marker is particular to a location, so police can easily pinpoint who partook in which burglary.
Recently implemented by Rotterdam's police department in a McDonald's, the SelectaDNA Forensic Coding system is hoped to instill fear so that a crime doesn't actually happen. This is made possible by the warning sign placed outside: 'You Steal, You're Marked.'
