United Streams Football to Starlink-Enabled Seatback Screens

United Airlines is expanding live inflight sports by bringing professional and college football broadcasts directly to Starlink-enabled seatback screens. Through an agreement with DISH, passengers can watch networks including ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, ESPN and NFL Network while flying domestically. The service is available on more than 200 Starlink-equipped mainline aircraft, covering roughly 700 flights per day, with United planning to expand Starlink across nearly 700 mainline planes by February.

The offering brings the immediacy of at-home sports viewing into air travel, allowing passengers to follow games while also using personal devices for fantasy leagues, messaging or additional streams. For United, live programming can make connectivity and entertainment stronger differentiators when travelers select flights. Expanding the experience across every cabin also gives the airline a broadly accessible amenity while creating opportunities for future sports partnerships, advertising and real-time entertainment offerings.
