Unique, Revitalized Waterfront Café Design Lures Diners

The ‘Silver Promenade’ may not be a fishing lure, but it’s sure to have a luring effect on hungry tourists looking for a unique place to eat.
Work began on the beach café in 2007. The project is now a reality. It was designed by acclaimed Manchester architects, Arca as part of an effort to revitalize the town of Morecambe in the U.K.
The distinctive design features a stainless-steel wrapper overhanging the glass facades that faces both the promenade and the bay. Outdoor seating accents the exterior and spans two levels on the south side. The seating areas have the effect of merging the café building with the ocean environment. The distinctive shape and materials of the café provide a much-desired landmark identity for the town.
