Greek Summer-Inspired Art

These Large Seascapes Are Meant To Evoke a Sense of Freedom

Inspired by Greek summers, some of these seascape art pieces measure up to four meters in size.

Paris-based artist Maria Filopoulou paints seascapes that avoid looking banal and unoriginal. She paints images of Greek seas with people frolicking about and her focus on water allows her to capture her own representation of freedom. Her paintings, whether underwater or showing the glimmering surface of the sea, manage to capture the movement and sparkle of water in a way that is difficult to achieve. By creating seascapes that can be several meters in size, the artist allows the viewer to almost immerse themselves in the art and evoke the same feelings that are represented in her paintings.

While seascapes are anything but original, the depth and artistry surrounding these art pieces is a reflection of Filopoulou's vast creativity.
