— April 10, 2018 — Lifestyle
Coral Wine, a winemaker focused on sea-aged wines, has partnered with Zadar-based brewer Pivovara 8 to submerge bottles of beer to create sea-aged beers. Thirty bottles of the brewer's 7.8% ABV porter have been submerged for 180 days and have been placed in a secret location near the island of Pag in the Adriatic sea. The beer, called Kraken's Treasure Porter, was brewed by Pivovara 8 in it Zadar brewery and is made of five different types of barley malt and two types of hops.

The thirty bottles of sea-aged beers have been submerged as a test and by the end of 2018, Coral Wine hopes to submerge around 500 bottles. The process of sea-aging has been known to enact serious changes in flavor as Coral Wine has actively been sea-aging liquor for some time now.
