Sea Shepherd is a non-profit conservation society based out of San Juan in the United States, and recently the organization created an AR experience that showcases the challenges that dolphins face as a result of commercial fishing. The AR experience is titled 'Below the Surface AR,' and it captivates viewers into how dolphins are being harmed. In order to create the AR experience, Sea Shepherd worked with Resn, an AR studio.
Specifically, the AR content depicts an industry practice known as bycatch, which is when fishing crafts unintentionally catch sea creatures they do not mean to catch. Last year over 11,000 dolphins were inadvertently captured off the coast of France according to the conservation organization.
