Caring Educational Robots

This French Company Provides Nursing Home and School Robots

RoboCARE is a French robotics lab that provides nursing home and school robots for care and educational purposes.

RoboCARE aims to make people's lives better through robotic technology. In nursing homes, RoboCARE uses a robot called Milo to help with resident stimulation and entertainment. Milo can lead group activities and quizzes and responds to interaction with facial expressions. Milo is also used as a school robot to teach English to French students.

The other robot RoboCARE uses is a mobile telepresence machine with a monitor on which family members and loved ones of nursing home residents can communicate with them. Because the robot can follow the resident as they go about their daily activities, it's much more effective for communication and creating a real-life presence than a telephone or computer.
